Artist's Comments

While walking through the sands of life, it's only too easy to lose things along the way.....

Taken at the beach, Cio actually FOUND the rose lying cut in the sand.... it was just so tragic.....

I like the whole concept. But for some reason, (this is picky) the color of the sand just seems weird to me. I dunno.

And er, aren't the footsteps backwards of what they should be? *shrug* seems to me that he would be walking away from the camera.

Just whatever you, don't die choking on a rock. Cause then, when you die, you'll be like, ugh, this tastes bad. And then people will come to your funeral. And they'll be like, hah.. cont: [link]

mmmm very interesting piece, I like how vibrant the rose is, in comparison to the sand, wish I could be walking barefoot around right now :( it's 40 degrees out

The concept would be much better if the footprints were going away from you. It just seems better that way. The rose makes good contrast with the sand though.

Absolutely lovely, hon..... I love it... :)

I like it. It looks like a real version of one of my pieces. You did great on the execution here.

A funny thing I noticed though, the foremost footprint looks a little rougher than the rest, which seem kind of calm and carefully placed. If I were to guess, I'd say you planned for that to be the last print and took a little jump or lunge ahead to set up to to take the picture. It doesn't hurt the picture or anything, it just doesn't seem to have that surreally light imprint quality that the ones behind it have.

Gah, I know, I noticed that after when I got home (which is at least an hour from the beach) and very observant, that is EXACTLY what I did.... I would change that if I could, but it's a bit late at this point.... ^^;

Heh, don't worry about it. If anything it adds another layer to the underlying theme. I got all nostalgic about vacation trips to the beach and thinking about how it feels to walk around in the sand and the funny things I do when I become aware of my footprints behind me.
